The precision Edge Preparation System (EPS) is widely recognized as the most effective method to prepare blank edges for linear laser welding. Our patented design is purpose built for the tailored blank application, and offers very low maintenance requirements for high productivity situations.
Many tailored blank producers have come to realize that this process is the very heart of a reliable, high production system. The ‘Gen I’ EPS systems include a quick change cutting tool design (die) which allows production levels to be maintained during maintenance intervals.
The precision die set of this cutting system typically requires factory level maintenance every 500,000 to 1,000,000 hits. (Note that actual service interval you may experience or require depends on material properties of blanks being processed, the quality of your normal in-house PM routines, and the avoidance of damage due to negligence or abuse).
